PINK ALERT!

When all is said and done, I know you are still the one!  Hi guys, I am back and this time I’d like to talk about my new pink lipstick: the Maybelline Pink Alert by Color Sensational Lip Colors in POW2 (PHP399.00/$8.50).

So I, finally, got a chance to visit the nearest Maybelline counter in my area and enjoyed a happy break to make swatches on my arms of the four shades (POW1, POW2, POW3, POW4) from the Pink Alert collection.  Sorry, no pics.

If I am going to rely on my visual powers that day, the said four shades were all blue based.  For your reference, blue based pink lipsticks are awfully blah on my skin tone.  As usual, I was a wee bit disappointed but I really wanted to purchase at least one so I just let my gut did the pushing and picked up the POW2.  I thought POW2 was the most decent shade that I can see myself wearing.  Probably, my warm undertones were naturally magnetized by POW2, huh?  A good buy or a fail?  Let’s look-see, shall we?

THE POW2 LIPSTICK

Maybelline Pink Alert by Color Sensational Lip Colors in POW2 gives a bright and a true-to-life colorful shade for a sensational effect.  Plumped with honey nectar for a creamier feel.  It comes in a see-through, lightweight case and an easy silver/metallic twist-up tube.

While application is easy as 1-2-3, I needed two to three swipes (or even more) of this pink lipstick to get the result I want.  The product retains on my lips even though I sip a glass of water or kiss my two-year old baby.  When already set, this formula becomes prettier and prettier.

Yes, apparently it had warm undertones and looked perfect against my lips and because my comic book artist husband said so.  I figured I should control my assumptions regarding colors especially when I depend on creating swatches on my arms vs applying the actual product on my lips.

PROS & CONS

You will surely love Maybelline Pink Alert by Color Sensational Lip Colors in POW2 if you are into pink lipsticks.  This shade is a fun color to wear and it plainly hollers youthfulness.  The price tag is very affordable and its application is smooth and effortless.

On the other hand, I noticed that few strands of my hair got stuck onto my lips, which I found very annoying.  My only solution to this madness was to put my hair up.  How do you deal with this?

MY NORMAL, EVERYDAY LOOK

I stopped wearing eyeliners again because at the end of the day, I want to remove all the junk on my face as quickly as possible.  I also skipped filling in my eyebrows here to achieve a more natural look.  If you noticed, I did grow my inner corners of my eyebrows back.  I used to have them threaded but now they’re left untouched.  I read somewhere that when eyebrows are close together, it can make you look a lot younger.  I need to blog about that next time.
