BEATING THE BUSHES

If I were given the stint of teaching a Martian girl about what it is like to be a young woman on Earth, I might begin by giving her a copy of V ♥ V: A Life and Style Diary by Vern and Verniece Enciso (PHP250/$5.50) to read, and because I love exaggeration.

The V ♥ V: A Life and Style Diary by Vern and Verniece Enciso was my latest addition to my book collection, while I understand that it may take a while for the people who are in charge in distributing of the copies but, y’know, it took me three trips to the National Bookstore before I got to purchase this title.  Either I was so excited or worried it might be sold out soon.

Put in print by Summit Publishing, The V ♥ V: A Life and Style Diary by Vern and Verniece Enciso has 120 pages in full color, divided into six sections: (1)Fashion, (2)Makeup, (3)Hair, (4)Travel, (5)Food & Fitness, and (6)Life 101.  It is in paperback form and it measures 6 ins x 7.5 ins, almost a size of a medium notebook.  The cover has a matte UV coating with a chic color pink foil stamping, and the thickness of each page is roughly from 60 to 80gsm.

The fashion part of the book showcases the sisters stylish wardrobe.  How a pink satin skirt, a strawberry bag, a polka-dot blazer, and a pair of nude wedges can be worn in two different ways.  It features useful how-to dress up tips for special occasions like holiday parties, formal dinners, girls’ night outs, and your 18th birthday.  The book also gives a reader some points on how to take your dress or your pair of pants from day to night.

The makeup tricks cover the basics like how to contour your face, fill-in your eyebrows, conceal your dark circles, and many more.  How to high pony, top bun, headband braid, and side braid were placed under the hair tutorial section.

It can serve as a travel guide, too, as the gals gave a glimpse of their trips, adventures, and dream destinations.  You may also enjoy some tips you can use on your own journey.  Best brunch places, simple food recipes, and fitness plan fall under the food & fitness section.

My favorite doze would be the Life 101 where they discussed the high school dilemmas, surviving college, and the love you deserve.

These young ladies also provided a couple of blank spaces where you can jot down your thoughts like a diary.  Sweet!

GURLFRAAN, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!

The V ♥ V: A Life and Style Diary by Vern and Verniece Enciso is perfect for young girls.  High school and college students will benefit from this book.  While youngsters are naturally expressive, on the other hand, they struggle to find their own identity.  This book will let them discover the things they are passionate about.

If you are a fan of the bloggers Vern and Verniece, you will surely love what’s inside!  That’s a promise!

CAME INTO SIGHT

The upper portion of my copy’s spine was somewhat broken or was improperly glued.  I wish I had noticed this flaw before I bought this.  It’s really upsetting on my part but the only thing I can do now is to be careful when handling it and turning the pages as lightly as possible.

I believe the quality of the printing was fairly displeasing.  I know the amount of saturation is totally subjective between the authors of this book and the publishers, however, the colors were too saturated for my liking.  I wish the colors were more vibrant and more accurate.  Slide the saturation level to the left, perhaps?

BOTTOM LINE

I really appreciate when beauty and fashion bloggers publish their own books.  It is something I want to collect as long as I can afford it, considering it is very easy to find, and for the sake of I love the blogger behind it.  In fact, I am pondering to buy more copies of this and give them to my teenage nieces as a gift.  Yes, I do love it.
