Advanced Selfie Challenge: Dark Emotional Heartbreak Edition

I LOVE SORELLE LYK OMG

Hello people!

I recently joined Sorelle Amore‘s #AdvancedSelfie challenge where she asked her followers to do a sad, heartbreaking, emotional picture.  These days, social media users mostly depict a happy, perfect, positive, and an almost unreal side of life but how about sadness?  She believes sadness in photos is also beautiful.  I think I have to agree.

I found Sorelle through a YouTube search on the day I was looking for pose ideas.  I love following people who make a difference, and her infectious smile and positive vibe made me subscribe.  I would recommend her to follow her in every platform.

ADVANCED SELFIE: JUST SAD

I found the perfect spot in the unit so I grabbed my digital cam, setup the almost broken tripod and my lighted pink vanity mirror.

Then, I took off my clothes (except for my white pair of thongs) and set the cam on timer mode.  I took a lot of shots in different angles and in different poses.

Just some quick thoughts of me having nothing on: You know, when you see yourself undressed in photos esp. for the first time, you will be like, “eeek!  shookt!” but every time you see yourself in awkward shots, every time you see your stretch marks, and every time you see your skin folds, you will get used to them.  This is acceptance and it’s very empowering!  Truly an amazing experience!

BEHIND-THE-SCENES

After an hour, I felt almost exhausted.  I took more than 50 shots.  Plus had to deal with a trooper cat.

I did not transfer the pictures that I took that afternoon until the next day.

So I was finally feeling creative-ish so I opened my Photoshop and chose the best shot according to my taste.

I also uploaded this photo on my Instagram acct. and hoped someone out there got entertained or inspired by it to do the same challenge — that’s my only perception but I will never know what would be the exact effect on others.  Can you please tell me?

That’s all for now!  Until next post!

xoxo, laarni
