THE DUST WRAPPER TALE
For those of you wondering how I got the limited dust jacket, I was one of the fortunate people who were able to clutch one of these during the book’s pre-order period — From May 2014 to Oct 2014. I placed my order at Amazon in early May and after few weeks, creator of Make Up Michelle Phan made an announcement through her blog that if you ordered the said book before the release, you get to receive this detachable dust cover as a free gift. There was a special page, which was put up on Michelle’s official website where the purchaser had to fill out a form to be counted. I did that. The dust jacket in baby blue color was sent separately, it arrived few days earlier than the book, and it was rolled inside a secured poster tube (photo here).
Its main purpose is to protect the book from damage but the coolest thing it has illustrations by Michelle and I love it to bits! You know, having possession of this piece of art made me feel special like I was born under a lucky star! I know I am insane. *laughs*

Published and released by Harmony, Make Up by Michelle Phan ($23.00) has 240 pages in full color, bursting with information on a variety of topics, insider tips, and suggestions useful to women of all ages.
It was divided into 12 chapters: (1)My Life So Far, Part One, (2)My Life So Far, Part Two, (3)Skin Care Savvy, (4)Makeup Basics and Beyond, (5)Hair and Nails Know-How, (6)Fashion Tips and Tricks, (7)Digital Dos and Dont’s, (8)Find (and Keep) a Job You Love, (9)Turn Your Passion into a Profession, (10)Modern Manners and Made Easy, (11)Ask Michelle, and (12)Good Luck!
It is in hardcover form and it measures 7.1 ins x 0.8 ins x 9.2 ins. The cover has a matte UV coating and the thickness of each page is very close to 80gsm. Slightly heavy but can be carried inside a roomy bag without breaking a bone.
I really enjoyed the book! All photos are beautiful. I also love how it was written as if the author was talking in front of me — It’s even crazier to say that the tone was like a talking beauty guru Michelle just like on her Youtube tutorial videos. At least, that was what I felt when I read it.
LET ME MAKE UP YOUR MIND, GIRL!
I wish I had Make Up by Michelle Phan when I was growing up. Everything a young girl needs to know about life is here. Sure the topics are already familiar to me but I always experience this I thought I knew it moment but the truth is I am as ignorant as any beast. I am actually always interested to know what other people think. New ideas and suggestions excite me most of the time. However, if you have a know-it-all personality, ignore this book at all cost as it will bore you to death.
Before I purchase this, I had this mental image that one day I will be glad to pass this on to my daughter when she has reached a certain age. I am sure the topics here in the book are timeless except for the digital section because I have a feeling after a decade we are going to communicate through our brainz. Okay. I keed!
Is it worth the money? YES. In fact, it’s currently 40% off at Amazon. Hurry up! Let’s go, sago!

LITTLE ANNOYANCE
I am definitely sure that I am upset because I’ve found no issues or problems with this book at all. I wish I could find something one of these days. Will keep this page open for modifications.

Like Michelle Phan, my body type falls under the petite category (I also fall under hourglass and I have #bigbuttproblems) so this year I am going to buy a new pair of high-waisted skinny jeans — As per suggested by Make Up book. To be honest, I’ve never tried this kind of cut (except for pair of shorts) on me since I thought I looked good at low-rise jeans. Let’s see and I am very excited!
