OH, AGING!

Hello, beautiful people!  How is it going?

Today’s topic is about the process of growing old and some guide for selecting the best skin tightening procedure for you.

I have never actually paid too much attention to aging until after age 30.

Now, I am 34 years old, there are three major parts of my body that need daily tightening.

My face.

My belly.

My legs.

HOW TO TIGHTEN FACE SKIN

Few years ago, I tried Face Yoga exercises to tighten my facial skin especially my droopy eyelid.  You gently pull the skin upwards using your fingers for few seconds.

Other routine is to partially open mouth and pull lips tightly back against teeth and extending the chin.

As we get older, our skin begins to stretch and sag.  There are numerous contributors causing this including aging, overexposure to the sun, and smoking.  While we can try to protect ourselves against some of these factors, we can’t avoid all of them, especially aging.  When you find yourself ready to seek treatment for your skin, there are some things you need to know about the process.

WEIGHING COST AGAINST RESULTS

You may think the less expensive route is the way to go when it comes to treatments.  Topical products cost far less than clinical procedures, that’s a fact.  Unless it is a prescription, all skin tightening creams can be purchased over the counter at pharmacies or brick and mortar stores or even online.  That makes it very convenient to obtain and apply it in the privacy of the home.  However, those topical agents don’t really work well and certainly don’t provide dramatic results of any kind, despite their promises to make you look younger.  In addition, it requires routine applications and repeatedly purchasing the product.  In the end, you spend a lot of money on moisturizers, not skin tighteners.

THE RISK FACTORS & SIDE EFFECTS

Almost every treatment has some risk, no matter how small it is . What you need to look at is exactly how big or small the risk.  For example, getting a face lift has major risks as it is actual surgery.  You have to take into consideration all risk factors before deciding if the potential results are worth taking those risks. There are many options available without exposing yourself to possible jeopardy.

For those of you who have used cosmetic lasers in the past, you may already know that laser skin tightening procedures have nominal risks, and the side effects are at most mild reddening of the skin or minimal swelling of the treated area.  You probably also know that those potential side effects are only temporary.

SURGICAL VERSUS NON-INVASIVE

Anything requiring surgery is an invasive procedure and will require recovery time.  Depending upon the exact procedure, it may take days, weeks or even months before you are able to return to your regular routine again.  This is another major drawback of surgical treatments.

Non-invasive treatments have far less recovery time after you have used cosmetic lasers.  In the case of laser treatments, you can return to your routine the same day and even apply makeup immediately after the procedure.

DISCOMFORT LEVELS

Of course with any treatment, you need to factor in how much discomfort is involved.  In the case of a topical cream, there is rarely any discomfort involved.  Surgery will obviously include a great deal of discomfort and require pain medications.

Most laser treatments involve only mild discomfort which can be prevented with the application of topical anesthetics prior to the procedure.  This is standard practice with most clinics.

IT’S ALL ABOUT RESULTS

If you are looking for treatments that offer the best results with the least risks, take a closer look at laser skin tightening treatments.  There are several different procedures, all of which are non-invasive so you can be up and running the same day as the session.  These treatments leave results that last for a few years and are very noticeable.  Make certain to review your options so you can choose the right decision for your skin.

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER

So far, I am satisfied with my daily face yoga and blogilates exercises for my belly and legs.  Although, I need to work harder for my legs than the other parts of my body because they seem to awfully sag too quickly especially the back of my thighs.

How about you, what do you think is the fastest way to tighten skin?  Would you try these skin tightening procedures?  And most of all, do you love aging?  Let’s talk!
