BACK STORY + A SNAKE JOKE

Before I begin, I have a joke for you: What do snakes do after they fight?  Give up?  Find the answer at the very bottom of this post.

The LORAC The Skinny Eye Shadow Palette in Nude ($15) is my first high-end, my first limited-edition, and my first LORAC eyeshadow palette ever.

There was no way I could have scored one of these.  I was ready to let this palette go when I learned it was impossible to get a successful transaction on Zappos (Puzzling, Zappos had these).  I was heartbroken but I managed to pass the beauty information on to my self-confessed lipstick junkie friend through Facebook because I thought she might be interested.  You know, how can you beat that $15 tag price, it’s from LORAC, it has warm colors, and it’s so pretty!

Funny, I have a tendency to share things that I love to my friends and relatives.  You need to get this.  This is a great product.  You should buy one for yourself  is my thing.  Perhaps, this is one of the reasons why I do have a blog?

Anyway, so I messaged my lovely friend who lives in Cali about this gorgeous eyeshadow palette because I thought she must have missed a Temptalia (beauty lingo inserts here) post.  While I thought that gesture was nice, however, something really good happened!  She graciously suggested that she can buy the makeup for me.  I asked her that I’d like to pay her via PayPal but she refused.  Uber cool, right?  I was bursting at the seams with happiness.

SNAKESKIN PALETTE

The LORAC The Skinny Eye Shadow Palette in Nude was part of the 2014 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last July.  It was selling like pancakes and it was crazy.  It has seven opaque, muddy, rich, velvety, and easy-to-do colors.

The palette has four mattes and three shimmers.  It comes in a slim case with patterned snakeskin design plus a compact mirror.  The case measures approximately 2.5 x 5.5 inches.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE

If you are one of the beauty enthusiasts who hold back from purchasing very expensive high-end products, the Skinny Eye Shadow Palette in Nude is your chance to experience real good quality makeup from high-end brands like LORAC.  It was genuinely sweet of LORAC Cosmetics for producing such a wonderful neutral palette without damaging your wallet.

Of course, if you are one of the eyeshadow noobs out there, neutral color eyeshadows would be your go-to shades that are obviously easy to work with.

LITTLE TROUBLES

Depending on your skin condition (well, I have oily eyelids), you may need a rocklike eye primer to hold the eyeshadows in place for up to six hours or more.

It’s sad that this palette falls under the limited-edition category.  If you have the luxury to buy more of these, hoard now and treat yourself!!!

The photo above shows one of the eye makeup applications I’ve created so far using this palette.  I think I just used three colors for this particular look.  I mostly used my fingertips and a MAC 239 brush.  Nothin’ vigorous.
